Aerial Application

We can’t predict the weather and neither can you (no offense). Every season, farmers and land managers are faced with the different challenges that disease, pests and weeds can bring. Aerial application of crop and land management tools is often the fastest, most efficient and economical way to save your crop regardless of the field  conditions.

  • Increase yields

  • Save time

  • Boost your bottom line

  • Reduce stress

Agriculture Liquid Application

We can apply a wide variety of wet crop protection such as fertilizer, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides.

FAQs

Why do you normally apply 2 gallons per acre?

Low volumes provide superb coverage; they are more effective for several reasons.  The most important is that the chemical ingredient is more concentrated, enabling higher efficacy of the product. The key to a successful application is the production of uniform droplet size and not volume of water. After years of testing, 2 gallons has been proven to be the most effective and consistent when applied from the air.

Is coverage from an airplane as good as a ground sprayer?

Yes!  Our airplanes are calibrated before each season to analyze the proper spray pattern and droplet size.  Data from computer tests are used to determine if adjustments are required for three key aspects of the spray: 1. Uniformity of the swath. 2. Effective swath width and 3. Droplet size.  An airplane correctly set up and flown can have an equal or better coverage than a ground rig, especially when crops have reached their full maturity.

What type of aircraft do you fly? How many acres can an airplane cover in a day?

We use agricultural airplanes called Air Tractors. The fleet includes AT-402 (400 gallons) AT-502 (500 gallons) 3 AT-602's (600 gallons) and 4 AT-802's (800 gallons). One of the many advantages that aerial application has is that it can treat a large amount of acres in a short period of time. All our aircraft have the capability to complete thousands of acres a day.

Agriculture Dry Application

FAQs

What can be applied aerially for dry applications?

Various products can be applied, our focus has been on granules, fertilizer, seeding and mosquito larvicide.

How many pounds can an aircraft hold?

The amount of product an aircraft can hold depends on the density of the product. For example in an 802 we can hold around 2000 pounds of Annual Rye grass or 5000 pounds of Urea.

Cover Crops

What are cover crops?

Cover crops are grasses, legumes, small grains and other crops planted specifically to improve soil health. There are many benefits to applying cover crops such as they control erosion, retain and recycle soil nutrients and break disease and insect cycles. The best time to apply many cover crops is when the harvestable cash crop is still standing. Aerial application offers the ability to spread the cover crop seed over the existing crop without any disruption to the standing crop
